Overall, a golden oppertunity for bankers.

📌 In Detail

The State Bank of India is hiring 2050 Circle Based Officers (CBO) across different circles in India. This is not a fresher-level job. Only candidates who already have minimum 2 years of officer-level banking experience in a Scheduled Commercial Bank or RRB can apply.

All selected candidates will be appointed in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I). The basic pay is ₹48,480, which is the same scale used for SBI PO and IBPS PO. However, since CBOs are experienced officers, they usually get advance increments, which increases their starting salary. 2 year experience is a must component.

The selection process includes an online written exam, screening, interview, local language test, document verification and medical test. One major advantage of the CBO post is that posting is mostly in the same circle for which the candidate applies, which gives better location stability compared to SBI PO.

🎯 What It Means For You

If you are already working as a bank officer and want to move to SBI without starting as a fresher, this is one of the best entry routes. You get:

  • Officer rank from day one
  • Same pay scale as PO (₹48,480 basic)
  • Better in-hand salary due to experience increments
  • More stable posting in your home circle
  • Strong brand value of SBI and long-term career security
  • Long term same area posting which is rare in banking.

In short, SBI CBO 2026 is a golden opportunity for experienced bankers who want higher pay, better facilities and a stable long-term career in India’s largest bank.
